How Bach Flower Essences Can Support Curiosity

for You and Your Animal

This month, our Animal Message is all about curiosity—how our animals help us open up to life with wonder, interest, and a sense of exploration. To deepen that journey, I sat down again with Bach Flower Essence expert

, and she shared three essences that support both us and our animals in cultivating healthy curiosity.

Each of these remedies helps shift us from the imbalances that can cloud curiosity—like hopelessness, rigidity, or over-involvement—back into more open, empowered, and heart-centered ways of curiously engaging with the world.

Here’s what Nina shared:

🌼 Gorse – For those moments when curiosity feels impossible because hopelessness has crept in. Gorse supports the return of hope and helps restore your energy to engage with life again. It’s ideal when you or your animal companion might be feeling like “What’s the point?” Gorse gently brings back faith that life will unfold as it’s meant to.

🌿 Vervain – This one helps when passion turns into overzealousness or strong opinions that shut out other perspectives. It balances the energy of “I know how it should be” with openness, flexibility, and a more inclusive curiosity. Great if you (or your animal) get overstimulated by new experiences and could use help being more receptive and exploratory.

🌸 Chicory – This remedy addresses overprotective or clingy energy—the kind of curiosity that becomes controlling or overly concerned with others’ affairs. Chicory brings in the energy of the nurturing, divine mother: warm, caring, and compassionate, but not smothering. It helps soften boundaries without losing connection.

Each of these flower essences works gently, helping you and your animal find balance and presence—so you can walk through life together with more curiosity and grace.

Reflection Prompt:
In what ways might you or your animal be experiencing curiosity out of balance right now—either blocked by hopelessness, overwhelmed by intensity, or tangled up in caretaking? Could one of these remedies help bring you both into a more curious and centered state?

Let me know what resonates—and if you try one of these, I’d love to hear how it supports your journey.
