The call to Stillness has been showing up everywhere lately—not as a passive state, but as a powerful and conscious choice, fostered by the Animals this month. It's not about zoning out or avoiding life, but about creating the space to listen, to trust, and to reconnect. That message came through loud and clear in our recent Animals' Message Monthly Meet-Up last Monday.
One of the strongest themes that emerged in the conversation with the animals was the deep value of active stillness. The animals were inviting us to explore what it means to be still—not in a way that disconnects, but in a way that deepens connection. Stillness as a bridge. As a pause that allows the next clear step to emerge.
There was a reminder that we don’t always give ourselves credit for the inner work we’ve done. We move on so quickly to the next thing, the next goal, the next task, without recognizing how far we’ve come. The animals see us. They know our hearts. And they want us to take a moment to see ourselves too—with compassion and grace.
A beautiful metaphor came up during our conversation—a quote originally attributed to Thomas Aquinas and expanded by Matthew Fox in his daily meditation book “Christian Mystics:” “The making stands between the maker and the made.” In the context of our gathering, it became an invitation to trust the space between what was and what’s coming. That liminal space isn’t empty—it’s rich with guidance, presence, and transformation. It’s not a void. It’s a holy pause.
Another message was about creating sacred pauses in daily life—small, intentional moments to step outside, breathe deeply, and allow the natural world to speak. The animals encouraged us to make space, both physically and emotionally, where we can simply be, and in doing so, feel their presence more clearly.

At the end of the session, I pulled a card: Embrace Stillness. And the message on the back? “Taking time to simply be has a multitude of benefits—helping us connect to the present moment, reducing stress, strengthening resilience, and hearing from your entire pack.” It felt like the perfect closing affirmation.
What stood out most to me was this: We don’t need to hustle or strive to be worthy of connection. Stillness doesn’t mean we’re doing nothing. It means we’re letting everything that matters rise to the surface. The animals reminded us that we’re not waiting to begin—this is the path. And we’re already walking it, with guidance all around us.
