Stillness and Bach Flower Essences

Nina Ruberti's back with additional support for this month's Animals' Message

In this conversation, Nina offers a trio of Bach Flower Essences that work together to support our work, this month, with Stillness. As she describes them, note how each one is actually a complementary invitation to the Animals’ for May. Each flower essence speaks to a specific kind of inner unrest that many of us carry - and that our animals may be highlighting for you in their behavior.

Nina’s three picks for cultivating stillness are Centaury, Water Violet, and White Chestnut.

🌾 Centaury – Reclaiming Boundaries and Center

Nina describes Centaury as an essence for those of us who are quick to over-serve—who say yes when we mean no, who give so much of ourselves that we’re left depleted.

Centaury helps restore a sense of centeredness. It doesn’t close the heart—it fortifies it. It teaches us that honoring our limits is not selfish but necessary. This essence is for anyone learning to stand firmly in their own energy without guilt or apology.

🕊 Water Violet – Easing into Graceful Connection

Nina also highlights Water Violet as a remedy for those who tend to retreat into solitude—who prefer independence but may struggle with loneliness, or find it hard to re-engage with the world. This essence supports quiet reconnection, not through force, but through grace.

It reminds us that stillness isn’t about shutting the world out—it’s about choosing when and how to participate. Water Violet supports the transition from withdrawal to presence, helping us stay connected without becoming overwhelmed.

🌰 White Chestnut – Quieting the Mind

And then there’s White Chestnut—Nina’s choice for calming the busy, looping thoughts that keep us awake at night or agitated during the day. This essence soothes the overactive mind, allowing space for clarity and calm.

White Chestnut is especially powerful when mental chatter feels relentless. It doesn’t silence your thoughts; it softens them. It helps you step off the hamster wheel of overthinking and into a clearer, quieter mental space.

🌿 A Trio Working in Harmony

What I love about Nina’s recommendation is how these three flower essences work together holistically. Centaury supports our boundaries, Water Violet nurtures healthy solitude and connection, and White Chestnut brings calm to the mind.

Together, they create fertile ground for stillness—not just as a temporary pause, but as a way of being. A state where we can hear ourselves again. Where we can listen to our animals, our bodies, and our spirit with more ease.
