Bach Flower Essences and the Power of WITH

Nina Ruberti is with us twice this month! Here on Trust the Animals AND on The Animal CommunicationPodcast this week.

BFE’s for WITH

This month, the animals remind us of the healing available when we move through life WITH — with ourselves, with one another, with nature.

Bach Flower Essences practitioner and intuitive

joined me again this month to talk about how these beautiful remedies made from flowers can help us move WITH our emotions rather than resisting or suppressing them. In our conversation, Nina offered three specific essences to help us open to the theme of WITH and grow our capacity for curiosity:

🌼 Walnut — For Transitions

This essence helps both humans and animals adjust to change. Whether it’s moving, welcoming a new pet, or processing grief, Walnut helps us stay rooted in our authentic selves while moving through uncertainty. It's like a gentle energetic buffer that lets us stay true to who we are while the world shifts around us.

🌼 Wild Oat — For Life Direction

When we’re unsure of our path — especially as we begin to sense that something is shifting — Wild Oat supports us in aligning with our soul’s purpose. It’s an invitation to be WITH our questions, to trust that we don’t need the whole map in order to begin.

🌼 Cerato — For Trusting Our Intuition

How often do we ask everyone else what they think before we check in with ourselves? Cerato helps us listen to — and believe — our own inner knowing. This essence is especially powerful for deepening our relationship with our animal’s messages, as it strengthens the trust that we can hear and interpret them.

As Nina beautifully put it, “Bach Flower Essences remind us that we are never alone. We’re working with nature. The plants are our allies.” And the animals agree — we don’t need to walk this path alone. The flowers want to walk WITH us.

More about Bach Flower Essences on the Podcast

In this week’s episode of The Animal Communication Podcast, Nina joined me, Karen, and Meredith to go even deeper into the Bach Flower Essences and how they help us be with what is — especially in our relationships with animals.

Our conversation highlights how flower essences support not just emotional healing but also a profound relational alchemy — a way of coming into partnership with our animal companions, our inner selves, and the sacred intelligence of the natural world.

Here are a few reflections from that conversation:

💠 Working WITH Our Emotions

Rather than labeling emotions like fear or sadness as “bad,” the flower essences invite us to honor them, to be WITH them long enough to hear what they want to say. One of my favorite takeaways from Nina was the reminder that there’s no “wrong” emotion. Bach Flower Essences help create a safe container so we can explore what’s underneath our reactions.

💠 Animals as Mirrors

Our animals often reflect what we’re unwilling to look at. But when we pause and say, “Okay, I’ll be with this feeling,” the dynamic between us can shift. The animals stop holding the weight alone. Essences like Beech (for compassion and tolerance) or Chicory (for emotional security) can support both ends of the leash — animal and human — in these moments of shared healing.

💠 WITH the Wisdom of the Plants

The plants don’t override us. They work with us — gently, intuitively, energetically. When we allow the natural world to walk beside us, whether through flower essences or time spent outdoors, we reawaken a remembering: that we are part of something vast, intelligent, and loving. And our animals — so attuned to that world — help us return to it again and again.

This conversation reminded me that when we use flower essences, we’re not just using a “tool.” We’re entering into relationship. Relationship with the plant. Relationship with ourselves. Relationship with our animals.

And that, to me, is the heart of WITH.
